Technologies
PCC is a whole system whose constituent technologies act as enabling organs. This page describes the technology estate by family, each stated at its current evidence level: Operational in the reference implementation, Validated (bounded), Active development, or Proposed (design intent, including published designs not yet built). Physical-environment families derive from the published 2025 design reference for the first-generation dome instrument.
Sensing & perception
| Family | Role | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Environmental sensing | Pressure, temperature, humidity, air and gas context for embodied deployments. | Operational |
| Magnetometry | Magnetic field measurement with reference baselines and anomaly registries. | Operational |
| Optical & spectral sensing | Ambient light and multi-channel spectral context; depth and low-light cameras. | Operational |
| Radio-frequency sensing | RF spectrum and wireless-neighbourhood context. | Active development |
| Human-state sensing & biofeedback | Heart-rate-variability and EEG-based coherence protocols for monitored and self-guided sessions. | Proposed — published research protocol; no efficacy claims |
Environmental & field systems
| Family | Role | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Acoustic systems | Sound reproduction and acoustic sensing within environments. | Active development |
| Acoustic-to-electromagnetic coupling | Coil arrays producing controlled, phase-shifted magnetic fields, optionally coupled to audio state; split-path, safety-gated, default-off by design. | Proposed — design stage only |
| Lighting & visual systems | Governed visual and lighting subsystems for embodied environments. | Proposed — design stage |
| Photonic arrays | Near-infrared arrays specified for the dome instrument. | Proposed — published design |
| Resonance substrates | Plasma, cymatic and ferrofluid feedback systems from the dome design lineage. | Proposed — published design |
| Environmental regulation | Coherent regulation of embodied environments through sensing and governed actuation. | Active development |
Hardware action is explicitly governed throughout: default-off boot, physical interlocks, staged dummy-load-first commissioning and fail-closed actuation are design requirements, not afterthoughts.
Computation & cognition
| Family | Role | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Distributed computing & edge nodes | Heterogeneous hosts, microcontroller fleets, gateways, device provisioning and over-the-air release management. | Operational |
| AI faculties & operator interfaces | Analysis, witness and custodian faculties with a unified operator surface; local model integration. | Validated (bounded) |
| PCC-COS enabling organs | Native CXP, HTM, PCQ-TG, ECI, Developmental Memory, Capability Register, Evolution Custodian and companions. | See Capabilities |
| Evidence & provenance systems | A strict evidence vocabulary separating measured fact, operator report, statistical and model analysis, interpretation and working hypothesis. | Operational |
| Resilience & recovery | Backup, custodian readiness and recovery mechanisms across hosts. | Active development |
